Are you ready to follow in the footsteps of a climate champion, by learning how you can strengthen the solutions story on climate change in Australia?
Adam Majcher worked with the ClimateWorks team from 2015 until he suddenly passed away in August 2017. He had committed his life to making the world a fairer place, and through this commitment, he created enormous and positive impact on an incredible network of friends, professional associates, connections, communities and of course his deeply loved family.
Through his academic background as a marine scientist, to his tireless work with organisations including Generation Yes within ClimateWorks Australia, Common Cause and The Climate Reality Project (when it was at ACF), Adam never lost sight of the fact that the solutions to our climate crisis will ultimately be driven by human beings. And he championed the right of all people - regardless of education, social status or any other barrier - to be part of the solution, building a cohort of diverse leaders across Australia, working towards safe climate for all.
What is the Program about?
A people person to the core, Adam was renowned for bringing people together to tackle and solve the climate challenge. The Adam Majcher Legacy Program seeks to honour Adam’s unique contribution by training and building the capabilities of a future climate leader, centred around an intensive, short-term, paid placement within key organisations where Adam worked (based in Melbourne).
It is gifted annually to an outstanding individual who demonstrates potential to build collective impact and to strengthen the solutions story on climate change in Australia. Through this immersive experience, the participant will work with experts across a range of disciplines to gain a portfolio of activity, experience and new connections that develop and advance their own unique pathway contributing to climate solutions in Australia.
We lost Adam way too soon. This Program is an opportunity to build on foundations that Adam created, while developing the successful recipients’ own unique pathway towards creating change. We hope to pay tribute to Adam’s life and amazing work through building a community that carries his legacy forward.
